August 14 Mouldings continue

A pleasant surprise change to the upper horizontal border. The builder had the narrow strip removed and replaced with a header.

August 13 Crown mouldings & window casings

The finisher started on the window casings and crown mouldings today. The designs aren't what we originally envisioned, but being picky and having things changed costs extra, so there are some things we can learn to live with. Here's the living room window.

August 11 Doors delivered & power connected

Saturday, and all the doors were delivered. Bifold doors for the closets

 Front door installed, needs to be stained.

It was another few hours of cleaning - sweeping and vacuuming all the drywall dust.

Aug 6-8 Touch-ups & Tiling

Aug 6 Not very noticeable, but the top border of the bathroom window that formerly touched the roof, was removed and replaced by a narrower border. It was bugging us for a while.

Same applies to the small windows on the side - all the wide top borders were replaced with narrower borders.



 The ceilings have been painted.

 Aug 8 Floor tiling has been laid. All tiles are 12" x 24". This is the kitchen - should've been laid in the other direction, but oh well, the kitchen cabinets and island will be placed on top, so it won't be too noticeable, we hope.

Aug 5 Painting

The first layer of grey tinted primer was sprayed on today. The painter will paint the ceilings tomorrow. Floor tiling is scheduled to begin on Wednesday.

July 31 Door frame

The drywallers were busy taping inthe garage.

 And the laneway home.

 The painter has varnished the door frame. The real door will be installed near the end.

 We'll keep the natural stain for the inside.
