Aug 31 We have light!

The lights and light switches were installed today - halogens in the potlights and the exterior lights.

 We still have to find ceiling lights for the other bedrooms. I like this one - reasonably priced too.

 Today the stone was applied to the one side of the house and to the top part of the front.

 Vinyl cork flooring for the basement suite and LWH. They had to level the floors in some places with concrete.

Aug 29 More stone

The stone was applied to the back of the house today. The sides and part of the front will be done tomorrow.

Aug 28 Stone

The stone was applied to the whole laneway home today. They first had to wash the stone, smooth on the cement, then throw the stone on. The house will be done over the next 3 days.

One bedroom is painted a different colour - turned out a little brighter than expected...mmm... might need another paint job some time in the near future.

Aug 23-24 Stone delivered

Stone for the exterior, hopefully applied before the end of the month.

Master bedroom painted the darker grey.

We bought all the kitchen and vanity cabinet handles and some lighting fixtures this weekend. The basement flooring may be installed this week, we hope. Kitchen cabinets will only be installed mid-Sept.



Aug 20 Bay window painting decisions

It's been a while since my last update, but it's just been alot of painting. The painter asked how we wanted the bay windows to be painted. He recommended all white from the borders to the walls on the inside. Notice how there are 2 different styles - some windows with a complete inner border, others with borders on the side only. After checking some other houses, we're having the inside drywall painted the wall colour, not white.

August 14 Mouldings continue

A pleasant surprise change to the upper horizontal border. The builder had the narrow strip removed and replaced with a header.

August 13 Crown mouldings & window casings

The finisher started on the window casings and crown mouldings today. The designs aren't what we originally envisioned, but being picky and having things changed costs extra, so there are some things we can learn to live with. Here's the living room window.
